I received this book free from the author in exchange of a honest review. Thank you, Emily!

Review

The story begins in the near future, where the humans are turned into Ticks and the vampires try to take control of the entire world. Lily and her autistic sister, Mel, are blocked in a Farm, where they donate blood for the Ticks. But when both are almost 18, they try to escape. Mel notices that a section from the fence isn't electrified, so they try to escape, but their plan fails when Carter, their school mate from the Before, tells them that they have no chance. They pass trough many obstacles and they eventualy manage to escape, with Joe, McKeena and vampire Sebastian. They are heading to Canada, where they believe will be safe, but they have no ideea what obstacles are waiting for them...

My opinion

This book was so intense and captivating! I couldn't put it down until I finished it, and after that, I thought: " This book shouldn't have an end! ".
Emily McKay wrote it with so much talent, and her story, more or less original, kept me breathless until the very last moment. The tight bound between Mel and Lily made me realize how important are the people we love, even as they are. And Lily, she resembles me so much! As I was reading, I was realizing that I would do the same, but, though, I don't think I would be so brave to escape the Farm with all those Ticks outside.
And the end, what can I say! I can only hope that the Emily will write a sequel, because the book really deserves one. I recommend this book with all my heart, but you have to know something: it's a little horror...

Parerea mea

  1. Coperta e genială şi-mi plac cărţile puţin horror. Poate mă apuc şi eu de ea :)
